Sustainability

Less material, less energy, longer life

With IML the label and the container are made of the same material. Recycling is easier and no separate printing or labelling line is needed.

Less material, less energy, longer life
Our approach

A concrete contribution in three areas

Mono-material packaging

A PP container and a PP label are recycled together. No separation is needed and the value of the recovered material is preserved.

Servo drives and energy

Our robots use servo axes and draw no power while waiting. Compressed air consumption is reduced by tuning the vacuum generator.

Long life and retrofits

We bring mechanically sound robots back into use with new controls and software. Instead of building a new machine, we keep the existing one running.

Typical figures

Typical gains with IML and servo drives

  • 100%single material: PP container + PP labelRecycled together without separation
  • 30%less energyTypical for a servo robot compared with a pneumatic system
  • 10+years of robot lifeTypical service life with regular maintenance
  • 35%less downtimeMeasured in our retrofit case
Scrap

Scrap rate on the first SE-250 cell

When labelling happens in the mould, the separate labelling line and its scrap disappear. Our FAT criterion is below 0.5%; the typical field value is 0.3%.

Measurement

How we measure

The figures are typical results measured on our team's earlier projects and on the first Bor4 cell. On every project we carry out the measurement together with you.

Let's bring your existing robot back into service.

New controls, magazine and static charging for mechanically sound side-entry robots: we keep your existing machine running instead of building a new one.
