Overview

Label feeding is the most frequent cause of downtime on an IML line: double labels, empty cassettes and skewed pick-up. The LM-4 uses an independent servo-driven cassette per cavity; constant pressure is applied by servo instead of springs, and a level sensor warns the operator 50 labels before the cassette runs out.

Cassettes are pulled forward and changed in 90 seconds; guides for different label sizes are set on a scale and stored in the recipe. The unit mounts directly into the magazine bay of SE robots, or to other robots via an adapter plate.

Yes. The unit comes with its own control board and connects to the existing robot PLC via digital I/O or EtherCAT. This is the most common use in retrofit projects.
